Frequently Asked Questions
Do you work with insurance companies?
Yes, we can assist with the insurance claims process to help make restoration as smooth as possible.
What type of water damage do you handle?
We address a wide range of water damage, including flooding, leaks, burst pipes, sewage backups, and storm damage.
Do you specialize in drying hardwood floors?
Yes, we specialize in drying and restoring hardwood floors, offering expertise to protect and salvage them from water damage while preventing issues like warping, buckling, or mold growth. Our goal is to preserve as much of your original flooring as possible, and ensure a safe and efficient restoration process. Some flooring and construction materials/methods cannot be saved or must be removed and disposed of to enable drying of the underlying structure or materials. Reach out if you have any specific question about your circumstance.
What should we expect during the restoration process?
You can expect a thorough assessment, rapid water removal, drying, and, if needed, repairs or reconstruction to restore your property to its original condition. The first step will be an on-site inspection, and estimate. Once you receive an estimate and approve the scope of work, we will proceed with whatever the project may entail.
What happens if my hardwood floors can't be saved?
If your floors can’t be dried out in place, they will need to be torn out so we can sanitize and dry out the substrate. Sometimes this is due to the type of water loss (sewage) or time since the leak (months old vs. a few days), or the construction method of your specific flooring.
How quickly can you respond to water damage?
We prioritize rapid response to minimize damage. Contact us as soon as possible, and we’ll assess the situation promptly. We don't traditionally do 24/7 emergency response, but we do work during normal hours on holidays and weekends. Give our after hours service a call at 503-919-1556 if you can't get through to the office after hours - we'll be happy to take the call.
What equipment do you use for the water damage restoration?
We use 4 main types of equipment to dry out buildings - Extraction Equipment, LHR Dehumidifiers, Air Movers, and Air Scrubbers. Extraction equipment is primarily specialized machines that get standing or liquid water off of building materials - think of these as fancy shop-vacs. LGR (Low Grain Refrigerant) Dehumidifiers ("Dehus") are much more powerful than your standard box-store freestanding dehumidifier. Think of an LGR as a semi-truck, and your standard unit as a pickup truck - The semi will do the same work as a pickup, and so much more. Air movers help move the air around the room and get wet, cold air so the LGR Dehu can dry it out, and warm it up. The air scrubber makes sure the air space of the dry out stay hygienic and healthy, using HEPA filters.
Can you handle storm damage repairs?
Yes, we provide cleanup and repair services for storm damage, including water mitigation, structural repairs, and debris removal. We also can handle first-response for storm damage. Wake up to a tree on your roof? Give us a call and we'll get it squared away.
How do you ensure safety during sewage clean up?
We follow protocols set forth by the IICRC - this includes implementing containment and disposal protocols, as well as certain safety protocols we put in place to protect both you and our employees. This includes containment barriers, PPE, as well as limiting the spread of contamination through the air.
What sets your services apart?
We offer a full-service approach, from drying and cleaning to rebuilding and restoration, ensuring your property is fully restored after a disaster. Many restoration companies can only bring the site back to equilibrium moisture, but in the process they will usually demolish certain areas and will be unable to bring it back to its original form and function. We have the experience and know-how to handle your project from the first contact to final punch and move-in.
Do you do Fire Restoration work?
Sadly, this is not a service we offer at the moment, but we are able to aid in reconstruction if another restoration company handles the initial remediation work. We can also help with drying due to automatic sprinkler use or water ingress from fire-suppression activities located on or in another area.
